2009 NBA Playoffs Preview: Western Conference

Best Team in the Conference – Los Angeles Lakers

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. The Lakers have the NBA’s best player and arguably the NBA’s best leader. They have an assortment of talented big men in an NBA that suffers from far too few talented big men. They also have the NBA’s deepest bench. Combine those factors with the stinging memory of just how the Boston Celtics closed them out in last year’s NBA Finals and will be hard to find another team in the Western Conference that is any better.

Team Most Worthy of Not being in the Playoffs – Utah Jazz

The team that faced the Los Angeles Lakers in last year’s Western Conference Finals, is simply not the same team from a season ago. Key players like Carlos Boozer have either been injured or under-productive. They’re not as good defensively as they were in 2007-08. More than that, the Jazz have not played with the same consistency that helped get them

Why People Love Fan Sports Gear

Everybody who loves sports usually pick up his favorite team from his favorite sports. Then they love to acquire sports fan products for the team that they support. Sometimes people choose their favorite teams based on their origin or location. For example, people who reside in Boston support the baseball team Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins in ice hockey, and Boston Celtics for basketball. Chicago sports fans support the Chicago Bulls fervently and go out of the way to exhibit their support.

However, it is worth mentioning that there are many other reasons to support a specific team, such as a team that the parents support or the one with a good winning streak or the one with very good sponsors. There are many university teams as well that play with NCAA, and people usually support their own colleges and universities. But when it comes to cheering up your favorite player, different people choose different ways. One such way is to go for fan sports

NBA – Magic Win the Series against the 76ers and Advance to the Second Round

The Orlando Magic, who finished at third place in the Eastern Conference for the regular season, defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the sixth game of the first round, wrapping up the series 4-2 with a score of 114-89. Despite the fact that the Magic lacked their superstar Dwight Howard and their shooting guard Courtney Lee – the first due to suspension and the second for sinus surgery – the Orlando Magic pulled off the victory convincingly. Philadelphia just didn’t have the fighting mentality and desire to win; the 76ers lacked defensive effort and had a poor shooting percentage during the game.

From the beginning of the game, the Sixers were down in the score. They ended the first quarter losing by nine points, even after a great contribution by their point guard Rafer Alston, who scored 12 points in that first quarter and gave a solid lead. During the second quarter, things became worse for the Sixers, who lacked team work, especially in the defensive

It Looks Like The Lakers Were Right, and George Karl Has a Lot to Say about It

The Lakers Were Right, I Was Wrong, and George Karl Has a Lot to Say about It

Author:  Brian Stankich
U. S. Sports Media, Inc

Kobe Bryant motivated his team by telling them during a timeout mid-way through the fourth quarter with his team ahead by nearly twenty points, “no mercy.”  If Kobe keeps that up, we might as well skip the NBA Finals and give the trophy to LA.

Los Angeles humiliated the Denver Nuggets in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals.  The Lakers await the winner in the East and have five days to rest before the Finals begin on Thursday.

The Lakers were right in believing they would beat Denver.  I was wrong.  I could write about how Denver had the upper hand early in the series and has a more unified team.  I could discuss how Carmelo Anthony, after taking a big step of maturity this postseason to exalt his game to elite status, seemed to have given up in Game 6, lacking the
