It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. The Lakers have the NBA’s best player and arguably the NBA’s best leader. They have an assortment of talented big men in an NBA that suffers from far too few talented big men. They also have the NBA’s deepest bench. Combine those factors with the stinging memory of just how the Boston Celtics closed them out in last year’s NBA Finals and will be hard to find another team in the Western Conference that is any better.

NBA – Magic Win the Series against the 76ers and Advance to the Second Round

The Orlando Magic, who finished at third place in the Eastern Conference for the regular season, defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the sixth game of the first round, wrapping up the series 4-2 with a score of 114-89. Despite the fact that the Magic lacked their superstar Dwight Howard and their shooting guard Courtney Lee – the first due to suspension and the second for sinus surgery – the Orlando Magic pulled off the victory convincingly. According to the basketball experts, to repeat as champion will be the biggest challenge the Lakers will face in the next NBA season with the expected stronger line-ups of the other NBA teams. To be competitive next season, the Lakers need to have a healthy a Kobe Bryant in its line-ups along with its superstar center Pau Gasol and veteran point guard Derek Fisher.
